AppDynamics is a full-stack observability and monitoring platform that focuses on performance management and IT Operations analytics. It offers a wide range of helpful tools, but caters mostly to large enterprises and organizations with extensive budgets. At its core, AppDynamics focuses on optimizing application performance and ensuring availability across a spectrum of domains, including cloud computing environments, IT infrastructure, network architecture, digital user experience design, application security threat detection, observability, and data centers.

Both Sematext and AppDynamics offer full-stack observability solutions. AppDynamics offers more individual solutions, but it is considered to be one of the more expensive monitoring solutions on the market, as it’s catered more toward large corporations.

Yes. AppDynamics facilitates the adoption of DevOps practices by offering a unified platform that gives digital businesses the power to ensure the performance and quality of their production software.

How much does AppDynamics cost?

AppDynamics has 5 pricing options in total, all of which are based on the number of CPU cores the user utilizes. Starting with the cheapest options, Infrastructure Monitoring Edition costs $6 per month per CPU core, and only includes basic Infrastructure Monitoring. Premium Edition is $60 per month per CPU core, and offers Application Performance Monitoring and Database Monitoring in addition to the previous plan’s offer. Next, you have Enterprise Edition, which is $90 per month per CPU core, and adds Business Performance Monitoring to the roster. Finally, you have Enterprise Edition for SAP Solutions, which is $167 per month per CPU core and only includes Infrastructure Monitoring, Business Performance Monitoring, Database Monitoring, and SAP Monitoring.

AppDynamics has a different pricing model for End-user Monitoring, charging users $0.06 per month for 1,000 of what they call ‘Tokens’. They do not disclose what these tokens are or what they are used for on their pricing page.
