At the end of November, we’ll be migrating the Sematext Logs backend from Elasticsearch to OpenSearch

Certificate authority checks are now available

November 1, 2022

Each certificate consists of a certificate file and a key file that are both signed by a Certificate Authority (CA). The main goal of a CA is to verify the authenticity and trustworthiness of a website.

Now with Sematext you can check certificate authorities of the websites you are monitoring and make sure that CA can be trusted by clients.

You can perform this check for both Root and Intermediate certificate layers and Sematext will trigger an alert if the CA doesn’t match with the expected authority.

To use this feature simply create a Browser or HTTP monitor and set the expected Root and/or Intermediate certificate authorities from the Conditions tab.

Once your monitor is configured, pick one of the alert notification hooks to get notified if the conditions fail.
