The addition of offline hosts is now available in Sematext Cloud. This new feature, available in both the Infrastructure and Fleet, shows you which hosts are sending data to Sematext and which hosts have stopped shipping data within the last 48 hours.
Easily switch between live and offline hosts by clicking on the relevant tab in the Hosts Overview table.
Heartbeat Alerts (HBAs) are built into Sematext Cloud, notifying you when Sematext stops receiving heartbeats from an agent running on a host. If this persists for more than an hour, the host is removed from the list of active hosts and added to the list of offline hosts. The moment the host comes back – and the Sematext Agent running on it resumes sending heartbeats – the host is moved back to the list of live hosts. However, if the host remains offline for more than 48 hours, it is removed even from the list of offline hosts, keeping the list of your live hosts and those that stopped sending data to Sematext recently up to date. Thus, even if you miss a heartbeat alert or if heartbeat alert has been disabled for some reason, these two lists provide a real-time picture of which hosts are being monitored and which ones stopped being monitored recently.
