New Infrastructure Group in Monitoring and Logs Apps

April 8, 2025

Each Monitoring and Logs App now gives you the option to drill down to the underlying infrastructure. The new Infrastructure group of reports, visible in the left navigation in the screenshot below, provides detailed insights into your environment, including hosts, processes, agent information and additional system-level metrics for Monitoring Apps.

Sematext Monitoring - Infrastructure group - Processes

What’s Included:

  • Hosts Report: Shows all hosts sending metrics or logs to your App. From here you can drill down into host details, including performance metrics, running processes, containers and system logs.
  • Processes Report: Displays top processes by CPU and memory usage, with detailed info about each process and the full command-line.
  • CPU & Memory Report (Monitoring only): Exposes historical trends for CPU usage, memory usage, system load and swap.
  • Disk Reports (Monitoring only): Shows disk space usage and I/O read/write operations over time.
  • Network Report (Monitoring only): Charts transmitted and received network traffic over time.

How This Helps You:

This feature helps you quickly identify which hosts and processes are related to your services, such as MySQL, Elasticsearch or other integrations. It enables you to:

  • Find the hosts running your services.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues at the process, host, or network level.
  • Filter data easily using tags like hostnames, container IDs, or Kubernetes labels.
  • Troubleshoot agent issues directly through a dedicated tab in the Hosts Report, with access to agent diagnostics and error details.

Sematext Monitoring - Infrastructure group - Agents

You can start using the Infrastructure group today in your Monitoring and Logs Apps to gain deeper insights into your services and infrastructure.
