At the end of November, we’ll be migrating the Sematext Logs backend from Elasticsearch to OpenSearch

Faster troubleshooting with new alert screens

August 5, 2024

Sematext Alerts has been updated to improve your troubleshooting experience. Our alert screens have undergone a complete redesign to improve usability. This includes updates to alert events alert rule flyouts, and page views across all our available alert types. Here’s what’s new:

Detailed Alert Summaries

Get more context from the alert event and alert rule summaries at the top of each alert page.

Information such as the time the alert was triggered, the value and the threshold that triggered the alert, and the current value of the alert are all available in the summary. Additionally, the App name for which the alert was created is displayed. The summary also shows a list of filters based on the alert configuration. Some filters provide more detailed information. For example, by clicking on filters such as `os.host`, you can instantly access details about the host, including host metrics, processes, logs, events, and more.

Direct Access to App Reports

Now, you can dive straight into the core of any issue. A highly visible blue “Go to Troubleshooting” link will redirect you to the most relevant App report, automatically filtered by the alert trigger time and associated tags like hostname.

Built-in Correlation for Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting is now easier with features like Split Screen and Connected Apps embedded in the alert events. You can view a list of related alert events, from the same App or a Connected App, occurring at the time of the alert trigger, helping you identify and resolve issues more efficiently. You can correlate each alert event with the current alert using the Split Screen feature.
