Following the first public beta release of Sematext Agent for Windows, we are further strengthening our Windows Monitoring by adding support for 15 pre-configured alert rules to monitor the status of the most popular Windows Services. These alerts are added to the existing 35+ Infrastructure alerts whenever you create a new Infra App, keeping you informed about the overall health of your infrastructure and allowing you to act proactively before issues occur.
Below is a list of Windows Services for which you’ll get alerted whenever they stop running. You can find them under Alerts > Alert Rules (Sematext Cloud US / Sematext Cloud EU). Simply search for “Automatic – Windows”:
- Windows Time (W32Time)
- Security Accounts Manager (SamSs)
- Event Log (eventlog)
- Task Scheduler (Schedule)
- DHCP Client (Dhcp)
- LanmanWorkstation
- LanmanServer
- Plug and Play (PlugPlay)
- Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) (winmgmt)
- Group Policy Client (gpsvc)
- Cryptographic Services (CryptSvc)
- Print Spooler (Spooler)
- RasMan
- Network Store Interface (nsi)
- Network List Service (NlaSvc)
In addition to having alerts for these services, you can create alerts for any other Windows Service you like. We support them all, as long as they are available on your Windows machines.
For these new alerts to work, make sure you are running the latest version of the Sematext Agent for Windows.
